Artes, who was once married, met Liam for the first time at his partner's funeral. However, gods which were transformed from swans can only love one god in their lives. Once one of them falls in love with another, his life will wither until death. Therefore even though Artes realised that Liam had feelings for him, all that he could do was to pretend to turn a blind eye to it. Artes wilfully believed that this should only be his struggle, as well as death.
