On her way home after being unjustly fired from her job, Mitsuki Sudo runs into an eerily beautiful boy standing outside a shrine.

She ends up stopping by to chat with the boy in front of the shrine, and later lands her next job.
As a thank you for giving her a pep talk and helping her get back on her feet, Mitsuki says she wants to help the boy out, but she learns that he's actually a human-eating spirit who nearly became a god!

Just then, the boy turns into a man and asks if he can eat her.

This is a comical, heartwarming story of a do-gooder woman who always draws the short end of the stick and a spirit with animal ears who was never able to become a full-fledged god!
