While I initially enjoyed the story, it turned a bit too dark & twisted towards the end with very little foreshadowing. The idea of a straight guy coming to terms with his sexuality was developed nicely; however Makoto's motivation is still a mystery. There's an allusion to something in his past, but no explanations and too many questions. I'm wishing now I had rented it for the 48 hours, because I doubt I will read this again. I'm not a fan of overly possessive partners, especially since the ending was too neatly wrapped out.
