Complicated but very harlequin style. The heroine seems to stand up fairly for herself compared to some FL from other harlequins. But the hero and his family were quite a piece of work especially the mom. It's no wonder the ML's bro turned into the big back-handed jerk and pathological liar (putting it nicely) that he did. The ML also was stupid for putting up with it for it so long especially with his smarts. He could pointed and figured out all the holes and errors in his brother's lies but it seemed like he didn't even really try. Thus, like his mom let his bro get away with everything and ruin his own life and relationship with the heroine. In fact, I think he shouldn't have even had tried to curry favor with his parents so much after all they didn't do for him. A bit disappointed with the ending. Hero and heroine had a happy ending but there were still some things left unanswered like the reason for the inheritance and I slightly wanted to see some punishment for the mom. Hehe.

Maybe I've been reading too many of these stories of late so this one came off kind of bland to me. It was bittersweet. Not as much tension, contention, and angst as I would have preferred but I found still found it a bit endearing because Kostya was pretty adorable. I would have enjoyed it more if pg 93 with the name introductions of his pals wasn't a bit jumbled. The woman who's hair was short but curly introduces herself with a completely different name than the one the ML does when he introduces her and her husband. That kind of bugged me and was distracting to the storyline. While I enjoyed it overall, I doubt I would reread this.
