Rowan, a noble lady, felt uneasy. Her friend Penelope, who was so shy it hurt, was worried about being forced to marry an earl who had been accused of killing his wife. If Rowan posed as her servant and could prove that the earl was an inappropriate man for Penelope, then her father would give up on the match.
