One morning, delinquent high school student Nagi Inoda rushes to save a kitten beastman who's being bullied at the park, only to get beaten up in the process. After that, the older brother of the kitten Nagi saved shows up and insults Nagi, telling his brother to stay away from him. The cat beastman turns out to be transfer student Mao Mikejima, who ends up in Nagi's class. Far from being thankful to Nagi, Mao gives him the cold shoulder. The two of them get off on the wrong foot, but spend more time together thanks to Mao's younger brother Gota, and eventually start to open up to each other.
After a heart-to-heart with Mao one day, Nagi gets flustered and pulls out the catnip he was planning to use to tease him. But, then, suddenly, Mao pushes him down...!
