Molly McGuire's in quite the bind, she needs an incredible fiance to show off in front of the work rival who stole her ex-lover. Luckily Nick Bailey is in a similar situation so he's happy to helpMolly by posing as her fiance as long as she'll return the favor to fool his ex, who refuses to leave him alone. The problem is that Molly and Nick's supposed engagement has gone public, and when his sick mother finds out, Nick has no choice but to ask Molly to keep posing as his fianc?e since the ruse is helping his mother to recover.
