Well, I guess I'm a masochist now. This series does things to you... Minato Kashiwagi might seem like a successful, career driven office worker on the outside, but she's got something else going on underneath. With an eye for spotting masochistic guys, Minato is the dominatrix of the office with more than a few men under her thumb. The young, new intern in the office, Towa, seems like he'd be a nice addition to her collection, and she goes in for the kill at his welcome party. It turns out though that this weak looking newbie is quite the wolf in sheep's clothing, and it looks like it's finally Minato's turn to be dominated!
Towa is clearly an expert when it comes to teasing and tempting, and what really got me about this series was how I felt like he wasn't just toying with Minato but toying with me, too. Sometimes he'd just stop in the middle of the hot action and instead of feeling disappointed, I found myself flicking through for my next fix. This is honestly one of the hottest manga I've read in a while and with nice art and some fun little story twists to back it up, I can't recommend this series enough!

Misha is a cat girl who's just got herself a new place, though for a new place it's looking a bit run down! She's already started work on fixing her pad up, but renovating a whole house is a bit much for one kitten. While she's out taking a look around the forest next-door, she happens to walk into (get scared half to death by) a passing dog man, Hati, who has no place to stay. Not about to let a potential helping hand get away, Misha offers Hati lodgings in return for his help with the house. Everything seems to be going perfectly! But, Hati starts acting strange one night... and, is that a full moon...?
This series is hella cute, though it does get off to a rougher start than expected in chapter one. Don't let that scare you off though, 'cause romance starts blooming before you know it. It's interesting to see the approach the series takes in regards to the in-universe taboo of interspecies relationships and families, and the heartwarming message of acceptance that the couple and their friends represent. You'll be sad to leave these guys when the story ends, but you'll definitely be glad you joined them for the ride.

So, this one's more of a shojo series + sexy bits! (+ a lot of laughs if you fancy some comedy!) Our female lead, Yume, is a die hard fujoshi (she loves her pretty anime boys) and as is required of a true fan, goes out to get her favorite character Hiro's limited edition CD on release day. Unfortunately she gets caught up in a brawl (cue male protagonist Taiyo's entry), and her CD is destroyed! Still mourning of the loss of her treasured CD, Yume is approached by Taiyo at school (he's hella scary y'all). As it turns out, he picked up something she dropped during the brawl and just wanted to give it back! ...and, what's this? Taiyo's voice sounds just like Hiro's! Could this be fate...?
There aren't many legitimately funny mature romance manga about, but this is one of them! Much more light-hearted than your standard drama-filled-flick, this is fun read if you just wanna chill while you read something, but still want it to have a smidgen of spice. Sadly the series hasn't been updated in a long time, but worry not! We have another of the amazing author, Nonda Noda's, mature romance series, "That Unexpected Side to my Childhood Friend -Watch Out for the Animal in Him!-" that you should be sure to check out too!

We've got a sweet anthology this time, with four different couples! The cover illustration features the first couple, Haruka and Iori, and honestly I don't think it does justice to how pretty the art is on the inside! So lets talk a little bit about that first story shall we...?
Haruka has moved out of her parent's place, now that she's in college, and into her brother's apartment. The only thing getting her down is her brother's unusually sexual friend Iori, who keeps coming over (why is he always wearing tank tops!) The definition of a pretty boy, Iori has a sleek but muscular physique that he can't help but show off, and a... suggestive, way with words. Not to mention the detail in which his 'package' is drawn. It turns out that this sexuality of his is enough to win Haruka over, with her being the one to land the first kiss!
My two favorite things about this book are: how sexy and consensual all the smut is, and how the women are portrayed as being strong whilst still being feminine. The relationships are all super wholesome and honestly this is all exactly what this genre needs more of!

Interesting title, is it not? Even in the world of manga there's no counting the number of super cute, super slim girls we're supposed to relate to, so it's awesome to see a title that's trying to challenge that norm.
Mayu and her boyfriend Ryo both love eating sweets. In fact, that's how they met! Ryo tried his best to hide his sweet tooth from their co-workers, but when Mayu caught him reaching for a chocolate tart, he couldn't hide it from her any longer! A fateful meeting indeed...
With the two of them going out to eat delicious desserts so often Mayu has put on a bit of weight, and she's none too happy about it! With the office beach party coming up, she's determined to slim down so she doesn't get embarrassed in her bikini. After dropping the pounds though, Mayu starts attracting attention from all the wrong people...
There are actually three stories in this volume, with the first being about out syrupy sweet couple Mayu and Ryo. Each story is equally as wholesome, with Mayu's focusing on loving yourself as you are, the second story talking about not judging other's on where they came from, and the final story being about enjoying yourself in the moment. This collection might be a little cheesy at times, but it's sure to leave you with smile on your face!

Sakurako Tohdo is starting her first day at her new school and wants to show up looking perfect. She's running late, so Kana, her personal servant and chauffeur, helps style her and see her off to school. Sakurako's desperate to make new friends, so before Kana drops her off, she goes over a list of rules about how to behave in front of her friends: no calling her "Miss," no picking her up in a limo, and no black suits. Sakurako leaves school that day depressed no one talked to her at all. She's transferred to a school on the other side of town because everyone at her old one knew her family had ties to organized crime and she wanted a fresh start. Just then, a boy calls out to her, "Sakura!" Startled, she turns around sees Senri Hanada, her classmate, picking a cherry blossom petal out of her hair. Senri tells Sakurako how he wanted to approach her because she was so pretty, but couldn't work up the courage until then. He asks her to be his friend and to exchange her username with him. Kana catches Sakurako talking to Senri and drags her off campus, saying her dad wanted to see her immediately. In the car, Kana scolds Sakurako for being too defenseless and... kisses her!? She finds herself enjoying it more than she should, but quickly comes to her senses and pushes Kana off. They head inside and see her father, who tells her he's promised her hand in marriage to one of the sons of the Karyu gang! Sakurako runs to her room and holes herself up there, but Kana comes by to help her change out of her uniform and brush her hair. Sakurako then confesses that she wants Kana to see her as a woman. Kana flips her over on her bed and asks her if she knows what she's asking for! Will Kana go all the way with Sakurako? Read on and find out!

It's got humor, drama, great characters, and hot (consensual!) sexy times. "An Extramarital Quartet -The Detective and the Wife-" really has the whole package and is for sure one of best mature romance manga I've read.
Not long after marrying a handsome doctor, Mika Asukai has already found herself hiring a private detective... but she doesn't want him to investigate her husband. No, she wants him to sleep with her! But, why on Earth would she want that!? Well that's where the story get's interesting...
You can't say too much about the plot of this series without spoiling it, but hopefully the promise of very twisty twists is enough for you to give it a chance!
Our detective Rei is simultaneously a genius and a loveable dope, and Mika is just the sweetest girl who you can't help but root for. Even the "bad guys" in the series are relatable and come off more as screw-ups than bad people, making the whole story feel very human.
The steamy sex scenes are really just the icing on the cake here.

I'm sure you've seen the fantasy stories where our two heroes switch minds... but how about one where they switch something a bit more personal? Kento is broken-hearted, but in some respects he kind of deserves to be. The two girls that he was dating were a bit surprised to find out that they both didn't have Kento's love to themselves. Meanwhile, Mari is stuck being the side girl for a married man. These two coworkers are basically complete strangers, but on their way to work, these two businesspeople absorbed in their worries absent-mindedly crash into each other in front of a roadside shrine. Later that day, Kento is taking a routine bio break, when he notices something strange... his little Kento is missing, and not only that, it's been replaced with a new part that definitely doesn't belong to him! And, to make matters even weirder, he sees Mari in the men's room... and she seems to have picked up what he dropped! This series is Hilarious with a capital H, but I love that it also knows when to balance serious moments as well. Can these two get used to using their new "toys"? Or will the shock of it all cause these two to stay at home forever? It's not exactly just a case of "finders keepers" here!

Sawa has always been charmed by the princely figures in the romance comics she reads, but even though she pines for that kind of idyllic fairytale romance, her real life couldn't be any more different. Sawa actually works part-time as a wrestler, and as a villainous heel character, to boot! Her wrestling persona, Sharktooth SAWA, is a terror in the ring, but at Sawa's other job as a cafe waiter, she spends her time quietly pining for the regular of her dreams, Kazushi. She wants to show him the fantasy princess side from the comics she loves so much, and is determined not to let her secret alter ego slip. But, Kazushi's personality isn't exactly prince-like, himself...
This story turns all the shojo tropes on its head, and Sawa is a great multi-dimensional character whose passion clearly shines through in everything she does, be it her work, hobbies, or love. Like her sharktooth Venus fly trap namesake, she walks a balancing act between plant-like fragility and carnivorous strength. The story does a great job of blending in humor and drama, and the twists and turns will definitely keep you reading! Will Sawa be able to reconcile her romantic ideals with her gritty passion?

Ah, on-the-job romance. What could be more glamorous? Well, it turns out that working day-in and day-out in the kitchen at a five-star hotel isn't exactly the best place to get to sit down and have a real heart-to-heart when you have a huge crush on another employee.
Ryoichi is the award-winning head chef at a hotel bakery. Chika has been in love with him ever since she crossed paths with him when her sister, Hazuki, hired him to create her wedding cake four years ago. What better place to fall in love than at a wedding, right? There's just one problem: Chika's sure Ryoichi has a crush on Hazuki due to the amazing intricacy and incredible beauty of the cake topper he created. I love heart-pounding romance as much as anyone, but sometimes it's nice to ditch the complex plots and cleanse your palate with a simple slice-of-life story like this, you know? It's just two students learning to come to terms with each other and themselves, and it's so sweet you've just gotta continue reading to find out what happens next. If you're looking for a classic "will they, won't they" story starring a serious girl and a slightly goofy older boy, you can't stand to go wrong here!

Our story begins with tragedy. The young student Tsukasa loses her mother in a car accident, and soon after that, her father loses his own job and succumbs to the vices of drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately, more debt collectors show up, this time demanding $70,000! This really isn't Tsukasa's day, huh? They are about to kidnap her, when the lady from earlier slams the collector to the ground and slaps a check for the money in his face. This woman, who introduces herself as Reiko, makes Tsukasa a counter-offer: if Tsukasa sells her body to Reiko, she can consider her debt taken care of. Wait... sell her body to Reiko? What the heck does that mean? And, why is she talking about "night duty "? Reiko seems so nice, but what does she want? Why would Reiko want to sleep together with Tsukasa in her tiny apartment? Throughout the course of the series, you can see the bonds between Tsukasa and Reiko blossom, as both of them help the other grow as people through their own trials. This story is amazingly sweet, and you definitely won't regret reading it if you're a fan of sweet, lovely yuri relationships!

Sakura just wanted to take a relaxing vacation to Dubai so she could check out the latest in aromatherapies for her beauty therapy business, but her trip couldn't end up going more wrong! When she witnesses a murder at a beauty salon, she's just as suddenly knocked out, kidnapped and auctioned off in Batra, a secret nation somewhere in the Middle East, for the sum of a million dollars (so far just as it says on the tin). And, it seems like Sakura's new owner, Urjiwan (or Ur, as he is known to the people of Batra) is only interested in her for her perfuming abilities. But, for some reason, he can speak Japanese, and Sakura is able to convince him of her talent as a massage therapist. Ur becomes more and more interested in his "Eastern beauty" and Sakura gets to stare a bit more at the tall, dark, and handsome man of mystery that she'll be serving... I guess the deal could be a bit worse. After all, Ur is kind to his servants. But, the land of Batra is lurking with all kinds of danger... This story hits all the right points of action, mystery, and of course, a bit of sensuality. Sakura and Ur's relationship slowly builds up as the two of them learn more about each other, and Sakura figures out how to survive as a stranger in a strange land. Don't forget to check out the detailed, lovingly-drawn backgrounds!

Since first reading about the dashing princes in children's books as a small boy, Rio has made it his goal to become a real-life prince charming. He's kind, chivalrous, helpful, and handsome to boot. This makes him some enemies with his male classmates, however, and while he's being bullied he's rescued by a Ouji. Ouji is a natural prince - someone who is brave and cool without even trying - so Rio begs him to take him under his wing. There seems to be another reason, however, that Rio is so drawn to Ouji. This is a really cute, sweet story that's in line with some more traditional yaoi tropes without feeling stale. While this book caught my eye with the silly premise and wonderful art, I was really touched by Rio and Ouji's slow slide into love, as well as the sincere way Rio's realization about both his sexuality and the real reason for his life-long fixation on princes was handled. A nice, sweet, relaxing yaoi manga that will leave you satisfied!

Okay, confession time. I went through a vampire obsession phase back in the day, so when I came across this title I had high expectations... And I'm glad to say that I wasn't disappointed in any way with this manga! As one can expect from many modern-day vampire stories, the vampire protagonist, Mizuki, substitutes semen for blood to satisfy his hunger. He usually keeps his man-hunting identity a secret, but one day his hunger drives him to lose control on a younger school mate, Sakura. As you would have it, Sakura's cum is utterly delicious! Mizuki has never tasted anything like it, and doesn't think he ever will again!
In his effort to keep Sakura all to himself (as food), he seduces Sakura and even agrees to become his lover. Everything up to this point is great archetypal build-up, but what I truly loved about this manga is what happens after. The emotional dance that Sakura and Mizuki do to figure out their own true feelings. How clumsy and awkward they both are as they do their best to work around Mizuki's unsatiable appetite. The way they are so both so earnest, yet stubborn, but unable to be more straight-forward with each other.
This manga was so sweet, with the most perfect touch of bitterness, and peppered with light, fun humour throughout. If you're looking for something to pull at your heart strings but also make you smile, definitely check this out!

I'm a fan of meco's works because they're all a wonderful mix of humor and smut, and this one is no exception! At a party, Shimizu lies to escape some man-hungry women and says he's gay. They don't believe him, so he does the only sensible (?) thing and kisses his male colleague, Karasuma! Drunk logic for you right there... Anyway, the women follow the two guys out of the party, so they hide in a love hotel! And, you know, since they're there, they may as well try the whole "gay" thing... I absolutely love the dynamic between Shimizu and Karasuma and how they continue bickering even while they're doing the deed. I couldn't stop laughing out loud, either! It's not just the dialog that's funny, but the background text, too. There's also some realism to it as well, with the characters discussing the intricacies of butt sex, but even that is handled in a humorous way. And the smut! The smut is beautiful and plentiful but certainly not overwhelming; it's just right. The way Shimizu and Karasuma's relationship develops is really sweet, too. It's just an awesome manga and I could continue gushing about it for quite a while, but instead I'm just going to implore you to read it!!

Toua, the bottom, is kind of more like your typical yaoi top in that he has no interest in love or being special to someone, and he doesn't even kiss unless it's during sex. He enjoys his life of pleasure! If the person he's with does fall in love, it's over between them. Otherwise, he's happy to continue a purely physical relationship. There is in fact a reason for this, but it's not super dark or dramatic, and it's just kind of slipped in smoothly as part of his past, which makes a nice change. It's like, he's afraid of love, but at the same time, that's all he really wants. So, he has lots and lots of sex, especially with Jiro, the awesome top whose expression never changes. I can't quite put into words why, but I really like Jiro. Maybe he just seems really real... Anyway. Toua may be afraid of love, but he's also afraid of hurting Jiro, which hurts my heart oh-so-good. You'll have to read it for yourself to see how it ends, though! My rating? 10/10, would definitely read again.

Yes. Oh my god, so much yes. Cute and sexy all rolled into one. Reading Akiyoshi's reactions to Tachibana saying BL is gross makes my heart hurt so bad! It's obvious how he feels but he has to go slow so as not to freak Tachibana out (though they still jump straight into the sex, of course). And then as Tachibana gets more comfortable drawing BL, he gets more comfortable with Akiyoshi, and then... Then...! Well, you'll just have to read to find out! (But know I'm trying really hard not to squee while writing this).

Part supernatural, part "businessmen in love," It Felt Good from the First Touch is a cute and original story about a man named Okiya who is able to see the 'aura' of those around him. He can tell when his colleagues have a fake smile, or if his significant other is upset and hiding it - not just because he's good at reading people, but because he can literally see and feel the mood surrounding them. This has been a blessing and a curse, because it's made him very skilled in interpersonal situations, but has also made him distrust the way people act at face value. That is, until he meets his colleague Koga. Koga is honest to a fault, sometime saying things that can even be seen as rude or inappropriate. The only thing he seems to hide is an intense affection for Okiya. Okiya likes being around Koga just to bask in the sweet, warm mood surrounding him, and even suggests the possibility of getting closer. But, is Okiya ready for the sincere love that Koga has for him after a lifetime of learning how to read others just by looking at them? Overall, this is a really sweet story about having to learn to be open and communicate with the people you love - because you might not be reading their feelings correctly, even if you think you are.

Shoichi Katakura works at a nursery school and is loved by all the children and their parents! But at night, he becomes "Ichi" and eats men like candy... On one of his prawls for a man online, a super hot, but also super straight man turns up. Shoichi had promised himself he would never sleep with a straight man again, and he ditches the hottie, Kei, in the middle of their session... Only to think that Kei looks awfully familiar. Of course, this only means they will run into each other again, and in the most inconvenient place for Shoichi...!

I looooooove me some Nonda Noda! A master in both Love Manga and Yaoi manga, this is just the perfect combination of so many tropes that push my buttons. 1) Secret night life to a otherwise prim-and-proper character, 2) A "straight" top, 3) Super beautiful art, 4) Adorable side characters... and so much more! I had gone into this thinking it would be light-hearted and a simple, fun, smutty read, but ended up more emotional than I had expected, which is always the best surprise. Also, the extra chapter at the end is SUCH a special and surprising treat as well... You won't be disappointed!

This manga takes the "my idol is actually my next-door neighbour!?" trope and softens it with innocent, pure love!
Sakuraba is a man who loves cute things. He packs his own lunch boxes, complete with bunny-shaped rice balls, his room looks as instagrammable as can be, and his favourite pasttime is reading the monthly shojo manga magazine, Garnet! Imagine his shock when he finds out at a book-signing event that his favourite manga artist, Megumi Nono, was his male next-door neighbour all along! Sakuraba is such a huge fan he begins to drop by Megumi's apartment regularly to let him know how much he enjoys his work. Despite Megumi's thorny attitude, they spend more and more time together, until Sakuraba realizes that his feelings seem to have exceeded those of a fan...
If you love sweet, slow stories that's more about two characters slowly developing feelings for each other, this manga would be perfect for you! I'm usually not a huge fan of tsundere characters, but wow, Chito Hanakawa managed to entice me! Megumi's tsundere personality is believable as a combination of social awkwardness and defense mechanisms, and it only goes to make him feel more relatable as a character. His loneliness and earnest feelings despite his tsundere attitude, paired with Sakuraba's straight-foward-yet-awkward love, really goes a long way to give you heartthrobs!
A simple story that is a feel-good read, with a few tear-jerkers along the way, this is definitely something you'll want to sit down with on a rainy day!
