I really wish I could give this more stars because it does a lot very well. The plot is interesting if predictable (I knew what would happen based on the summary alone), the characters are incredibly likable (except for the baby's incredibly spoilt and irresponsible parents) and interesting, not at all stereotypes, and the art is lovely. Cale doesn't correct his mother's misunderstandings because she's finally excited and energetic again, and Anstey goes along with it to stay with Rosie, so both leads are motivated by love. My problem is the romance. It sucks. The leads have no chemistry, they never say anything nice to each other (they only think it), all of their interactions revolve around their issues regarding the baby, and they never open up to each other or grow closer. Whenever they share anything personal about themselves it's only as a means to convince the other. That's not bonding, that's emotional manipulation. And then Cale blackmails and tricks Anstey into marrying him.
