Things start off light and comedic, with headstrong Theodora so focused on work and writing her novel that she transforms herself into the perfect work robot and pays no attention to her increasingly desperate and lovesick boss James, then suddenly things start getting serious. Theo is at first the only lead lady I know to be completely uninterested in the male lead, she genuinely isn't affected by his charms or swayed by his looks, being put off by his bad attitude as a tyrant boss, and fully devoted to her dreams and ambitions. While this is clearly an admirable trait of hers, as she slowly falls in love with James we see how her uncompromising desire for independence can also be a fault, since she denies herself a chance to be happy and embrace love because she refuses to allow her self-control to be compromised. As for James, his growing love for Theo and frustration at her constant rejections steadily go from funny to downright sad, I feel so bad for the poor guy,he tries so hard!
