Utako is the heiress of the Mikoshiba Inn, a traditional Japanese inn with a long history. Past experiences in love have led to her having a phobia of men, so she's constantly making mistakes in front of male guests. She knows that she needs to do better as she'll eventually take over for her mother, but she's unable to overcome her phobia.
Then, Ritsu, a regular customer and an author that Utako admires who's staying in the Floating Boat villa at the inn, makes a suggestion. In exchange for helping Utako overcome her fear of men, he wants her cooperation in researching romance for his latest work, a subject which he's clueless about.
Utako's eyes light up and she agrees when she hears about Ritsu's latest novel, but...

"Ritsu-sensei is a man, yet I'm not afraid of him at all..."

The physical contact Ritsu uses to help her overcome her fear grows sweeter.

Her secret first love begins to stir upon reuniting with the elusive, popular author...
