I decided to read all three stories. This is a sweet story. It have historically info about manors on old Ancient Greek and Roman. Even if it was indirect.

I'm glad I read this series in reverse order because this one is by far the worst of them. The plot is the clich辿 marriage w/o love and adds nothing new to the trope, if you've read one then you'll know what happens here. There are several gaps in logic with a lot of things making no sense when you stop to think about it, everything feels a little off and very empty, not helped by the excessive focus on Ilios's boring villa and its interior d辿cor (words you'll be sick to death of by the end). I hate the story constantly drilling in the fact that Lizzie is considered part of the interior d辿cor, Ilios keeps repeating it and even Lizzie comes to believe it herself (her constant lack of self-respect is disturbing). I also hate how Ilios's tragic backstory is used to justify his horrible behaviour and invalidate Lizzie's own suffering, people's suffering should never be compared like that! This story doesn't do justice to this trope nor to this series. What a bad way to start the series.
