"You're really my type...!" says Masaomi Takamura, a smartly-dressed, dashing young shogi (Japanese chess) player. Kei sees Masaomi on TV and realizes he's that dorky-looking, bespectacled boy from his class!! The two become friends, and Kei develops a crush after seeing Masaomi, the professional shogi player, with his glasses off. As Kei copes with his newfound feelings, Masaomi makes bold advances on him......! This is a test of wills between an assertive, kimono-garbed shogi player and a sulky boy who desperately wants his attention! Who will checkmate the other!?
