Full disclosure: This type of story and the level of drama (jealousy, violence) is not my usual preference, BUT the lovely art first drew my attention, and then the characters sucked me in further, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm a bit more drawn to more comedic elements in my mangas but this is still worth reading and I'm sure I'll reread it, too! (Depending on the ending, of course!)So the 4 stars means I recommend but with caveats :)

Chapter 4 has the payout I was hoping for!!!!! I remain hopeful that the next chapter continues this trend because it's one of my fave tropes! And even if things head a different direction, I can just reread this chapter to my hearts content.

Is it a bit ridiculous? Yes.Do I enjoy it immensely? Also yes.

Okay so I feel like I need to say that the pee thing is not, strictly speaking, a sex thing. It's more like... a plot device, I guess? Pee as a kink is definitely not my thing, and I found that the instances in question in this manga are not much different (or worse) than someone puking because they drank too much. Anyway! I really like the art style and have enjoyed the author's other works here on renta. The characters are cute. There's humor. There's no overwrought melodrama, no supervillains. It's really worth a try!!

So I waited a while to write my review, ch 10 is out now and it just keeps getting better. Heart-breaking but also sweet and heartwarming. “Innocence” is definitely a theme that runs throughout, and sexual assault also comes up, but I think it's treated in a facing-your-fear/vengeance kind of way.

Premise aside, this is a very heartwarming and humorous story with adorable, charming characters. The major trauma is dealt with in what I felt was a respectful and loving manner between Iida and Baba. And going back to the premise... sure, it's ridiculous, but it wasn't meant to hold up through the whole series, and I love it when an author takes a plot that appears silly on the surface and makes it have unexpected depth. And, the art is fantastic!

so this is the most excited I've been over a story in a while. final verdict: a supremely eloquent WOW. I'm kinda torn though because it's now completed and on one hand I like that it wasn't drawn out and melodramatic with increasingly absurd arcs but on the other hand I didn't want it to end!?! because the characters are so wonderful and the art is just fantastic?!? and while reading I kept making these little excited "eeeeeee!" noises (but in my head so I didn't wake up my roommate because I'm not a complete jackass), so, uh, yeah. get it, read it, love it.

So the series is completed, and wowza. I'm just really happy with the way this turned out. Obviously I adore the main couple and I thought both characters stayed true to themselves throughout... Elena's story took a surprise turn that I honestly was not expecting, which was such a bonus. Overall, cute and sweet but with maturity and authenticity in the characters and the story.
